Three Weekends a Year
– Each year, we are open only three times a year to the general public. Why, you ask, are we open so few times? Our parcel of land is so small that we cannot have a commercial establishment on it. We instead have a conditional use permit to operate a tasting room. One of the conditions of the use of our tasting room is that we limit its use to 3 public events of not more than three days each during the year. This will be the third and final public event of 2019. In 2020, we will likely announce three different weekends. We will NOT be open for Memorial Day Weekend, 2020, because of a family committment
If you are looking for a polished, corporate wine country experience, this is not it. What you see is what you get – two people who love their property, try hard to grow the best grapes and make the finest wine that we can from our very special site. We want you to experience the same joy that we do when you see our home and taste the fruits of our labors.
We Offer Private Tastings/Tours
for a fee of $50 – for the first 2 people and $10 more per person up to a maximum of 12 people, you (and your group) can enjoy light snacks and taste 4 different Calamity Hill Wines. Unless the weather is terrible, we will also tour the Vineyard, Olive Plantings, and Gardens. We can accommodate you at any mutually acceptable time – please contact us at Natch4@gmail.com or by phone, 503-868-7115, land line or 503-435-9868, Tom’s cell, to arrange a tasting.
– To be informed of all special events at Calamity Hill, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page. We will add you to our FFF list (Friends, Family, and Fools) who are informed of every event from helping us harvest, to dinner in the vineyard, to big regional food and wine events like SIP and First Taste Oregon, and Eola-Amity Hills AVA events. Who knows what great opportunities there will be to enjoy the wine culture at Calamity Hill? You will, if you are on our list.
